This is part one of our conversation with Danny Wool of The Wikimedia Foundation, the organization behind Wikipedia, Wikibooks, and assorted other projects in the ‘Wikisphere’. He discusses how he got involved with the project, how Wikimedia has designed and managed the Wikibooks project thusfar, and how they are dealing with key issues like validation and funding in an effort to make Wikibooks usable in today’s classrooms.
Another very international webcast with the Webheads. In this case, hosted by Hala & Leanne as part of the Becoming a Webhead Session of TESOL’s CALL Interest Section’s Electronic Village Online. The show included discussion of what goes on ‘behind the curtain’ of the Worldbridges webcasting machine and how this kind of webcasting can be used in teaching English (or other languages) as a Foreign Language.
