Starting
at 7am on the first morning of Losar, His
Holiness, the Dalai Lama conducted the Tsetor Puja on the
roof of the Main Temple.
This religious ceremony is meant as a prayer
for long life and as a tribute to Tibet's protector diety, Palden
Llamo.
About 200 monks, Tibetan government officers, and members of the
press were present. As the sun rose over the Kungra Valley,
monks chanted, played ceremonial musical intruments and reverently
greeted the Earth Rabbit year.
